  this is a awesome instructional on gripping! any grappler who trains in the Gi needs this. you cannot go wrong with Jimmy Pedro.

  Excellent material, equal if not better than his original grip like a champion. I used many of his concepts when I was an active Judo competitor; his tools helped me on the path to win two US Judo National medals and two all armed forces Judo medals.

  This instiructional is essential viewing for bjj athletes. Having basically no judo experience, I can still say that the material in this video alone has greatly improved my confidence in the standing position, as well as my success there. After having drilled and put into practice the very basics of the gripping tactics that Jimmy teaches, I felt more at ease understanding what my training partners' options were from different gripping scenarios. Because Jimmy focuses on achieving grips that shut down the movement patterns that lead to throws, you don't need an extensive knowledge of throwing techniques to have confidence in your positioning within his gripping system. I also found that the gripping system really opened up my wrestling in the gi as it allowed me to operate with more initiative, take my grips, and go to work.

• Coming from Bjj, start with gripping?

  Im glad to be able to study this! I didnt know anything about gripping in judo so being introduced to it all - defensive grips like european grips or "russian grip" etc is so very useful! grip breaks and Jimmys thoughts on "being able to throw each side" and stance.. • Best dvd on gripping for bjjj

  This DVD was fantastic. There is very little on gripping out there, and what there is is often focused on Judo rules. Jimmy Pedro is a legend In judo yet this instructional is accessible to BJJ players. You can implement these techniques immediately. Thanks for a great DVD!

• Fantastic resource for an often overlooked skill

  Love the systematic way Jimmy teaches. I've started putting his strategy in to practice and it's helping a lot. Having a plan and clear goals is hugely important, and I can start to formulate my own plan for attack off the various stages of the gripping sequence. Really good stuff!
