Excellent as always, added so much to my closed guard passing game. Love the Concepts shared on passing
There are some really interesting techniques that I haven't seen yet. I have tried them and they work ( as expected ), so I give two thumbs up!
very good some great ways to use correct posture for defense in closed guard preventing armbar triangle and guillotine submissions.recommended
Great video! Had lots of good details for posture, guard breaking, triangle defense, and arm bar defense.
This is a great instructional. I gave 4 stars only because the camera man is so annoying with a constant zooming in and out making it difficult to keep a general view of what’s happening. This type of recording is so unnecessary for grappling instructional.
Excellent instruction. Especially useful defense and escape techniques.
Henry Akins simplifies everything to succint (vs. long, drawn out style of John Danaher, which is still great).
Professor Henry Akins put together all detauls of getting proper posture and keeping it no matter if you attack in terms of preparing the guard pass and eventually passing or you have to prevent or defend the triangle or armbar or guillotine or sweeps! Posture is key! Highly recommend
Henry Aikns has made tremendous impact on my game. His level of detail and easy-to-learn instruction make this video a gem. The detail outlined in this instructional can either make or break your technique. A must have in your JJ collection.
I’ve added a lot of the small ‘invisible’ details to my game, particular around posture and submission prevention. If you are familiar with Henry Akins work then you know what to expect - he just sees BJJ from a different lens to most other instructors. The only downside, and it’s something I’ve noticed before, is that there is a small duplication with some of his other instructionals, e.g the sections on armbar and triangle escapes. I don’t mind this as it’s always good to be reminded of excellent techniques but as Henry’s instructionals are some of the more expensive ones on BJJ Fanatics, regular customers may feel more short changed.
Amazing instructional
Inside the closed guard is one of Henrys master pieces. The Jiu Jitsu Henry teaches is not being taught anywhere. I highly recommend Inside the closed guard and guard attacks. In fact I highly recommend EVERYTHING Henry puts out. Carl Canfield, Bjj Black Belt
best instruction ever
Agree with the other reviewer. The instructional is amazing. but (it's a big BUT) I'm a fan of Akins and own lot of his instructional videos (almost all on the site). if you have the escapes ones (armlock&chokes), half of the video is a repetition. Of the other half, a part is a repetition of itself with older footage (Henry has short hairs), with minimal differences. instruction are good? definitively are the details great as usual? yes but lot of the stuff here is already seen in other akins instructionals, or even in the same instructional (!) I Would recommend this video only if you want to pick only one. if you are interested in Akins system (that i LOVE), I would avoid - especially considered the price. BJJFanatics fantastic in giving me a refund as soon as I explained my motivations.
I know some people will think the price is too high, but I'll be honest, I saw stuff here I have never seen anywhere else. It changed the fundamentals of my game. I didn't think "invisible jiu-jitsu" from Rickson Gracie was real, but it is. There are things that look the same on a surface level, but little changes make a huge difference. Just buy anything from Henry Akins to see what I mean.
