A Solid Foundation: The First Principles of BJJ
Go Further Faster Bundle by John Danaher
The instructional set by Danaher showcases high-quality content, ideal for those new to the sport. It is meticulously structured, focusing on fundamental concepts and techniques. Danaher, a deeply knowledgeable and dedicated practitioner, effectively deconstructs the sport into its basic principles. His unique approach to challenging conventional assumptions is particularly enlightening. This aligns well with my learning style, enhancing the overall educational experience.
Great material
Inside Guard Secrets Half Guard and the Knee Crunch by Kieran Kichuk
Great material
It's Danaher........ and leg locks!11
Leglocks: Enter The System by John Danaher
I have lots of leg lock instructionals and this one is probably still the best. Especially if you are relatively new and trying to build a leg lock game from the ground up. This is a complete system in itself but can also serve as a launching point into other systems of leg entanglements. You cannot go wrong with Danaher
Easy to understand
Weight Training For Grappling by Michael Israetel

Very good contexts presented
Engaging Without Regrets by Jozef Chen
I agree with the way the second volume frames scenarios and introduces the games to apply gripping and footwork strategies.
Timeless system for closed guard
The Complete Williams Guard by Shawn Williams
Having tried many different systems of closed guard I still find this one to be the best. Creating angles, moving your hips and controlling posture are paramount from bottom and Shawn Williams is a master at teaching these concepts. This is fundamental jiujitsu that will never go out of style. Great for older practitioners too as this requires less flexibility than other types of guard such as rubber guard.
Detailed and easy to understand

Game Changer
Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
This instructional has made Jiujitsu a lot more fun for me. Now I actually enjoy putting myself into bad positions so I can practice my escapes. Also I am more confident in my attacks because I am less worried about ending up in bad positions if they fail. This is an amazing way to rapidly improve your overall game.
Best Leglocking Video Out There
Breaking Legs and Breaking Hearts by Garry Tonon
I've got a lot of DVDs (it's a problem, but that's another topic). Out of all of them, Garry is probably the best teacher: the knowledge of Danaher minus the sleep aids, the style of Gordon without the lack of self-awareness, and the sweetest haircut in all of jiu jitsu.
Unconventional but efficient details
The Catch Wrestling Formula by Neil Melanson
I love Neil's teaching style. This dvd is a collection of different techniques mainly half guard passing and d'arce and arm in guillotine chockes. There is also a huge section that goes in depth with the Williams guard. Melanson is a very efficient teacher with brings a wrestler based grappling perspective to the table. I can highly recommend this video.
Perfect Series
The Ultimate Rubber Guard by Eddie Bravo
TONS of great info, well worth the money.

SO MANY TRIANGLES!1
Triangles Enter The System by John Danaher
This completely changed the way I see triangles. This series teaches setups, controls and finishes for 5 different types of triangles from nearly every position with a few obvious exceptions. If you learn only one setup for each you will be far ahead of most people and a formidable threat with the triangle.
Nicky Breaks it down
Interplay Between High Step and Body Lock Passing by Nicky Ryan
Amazing setups and details I was able to apply immediately in training
Armbars from Everywhere!
Arm Bars: Enter The System by John Danaher
This series is amazing and can dramatically improve your arm bars attacks from many different positions. The finishing details will increase your fnish rate with attacks you already know. I highly recommend this one for anyone interested in building a savage armbar game.
Bottom game -Gi
Ageless Jiu Jitsu: Winning When You're Older and Less Athletic - Bottom game: Gi by John Danaher
Professor Danaher has done it again!
Great Instructional
Nicky Ryan's Wrestle Up Series by Nicky Ryan
Nicky Ryan does an excellent job explaining concepts and tying them into scenarios. His explainations are crisp with no excessive flowery language. This allows for a high amount of knowledge transfer in a short amount of time. Great video especially for wrestlers who want to tie their wresting into playing guard.
Closed guard terror
Utilizing Underhooks & Overhooks From Closed Guard by Mason Fowler
In this instructional Mason Fowler lays out his closed guard system for which he is known in the world of gi and no GI grappling. His main route of action is to use over and under hooks from bottom closed guard combined with very efficient ways to break down an opponent.

Top Tier Takedown Defense Principles
Wrestling Takedown Defense For Grappling by Alex Enriquez
Alex is a wonderful instructor and breaks this down in a way that’s easy to follow if you’re a beginner and has the details that are helpful for experienced practitioners. I was able to use these techniques shown throughout my college wrestling days and now in my grappling career. I was able to All-American my first season of wrestling never had wrestled before, but my takedown defense was efficient enough to defend and score with. If it works with wrestlers, it will work with grapplers. Definitely recommend!
