I have always struggled to find a systematic approach to the no gi standing game. Once again John Danaher manages to provide a complete system for such a vast area in jiu-jitsu. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn how to approach nogi takedown.
I've been trying to improve my wrestling and standup game for a while, and I feel like this series has finally help me get passed a lot of pain points I've been having. It's very well made and organized!
These are techniques that you will have seen before but Danaher brings them into one of the most complete thesis of no-gi takedowns ever complied and breaks it them down like nobody else can. This is a masterpiece and has helped me to polish my standing game to no end.
Great videos to speed up the process of learning takedowns from basic
Would highly recommend!!! Lots of wrasslin and Judo takedown options for guard pullers.
I'm more of catch based guy DDS is some of best instructional available
Nice details
it totally changed my standup
As usual, Danaher goes into the subject in such depth that, if you could take everything onboard, your skill level would be amazing. Nevertheless, this is a superb tutorial that will give you everything you need to become great from standing to the ground.
A great instructional as per usual from danaher, covering not just techniques, but also strategy.
John is the best instructor! He does not only provide techniques, but also clear concepts behind them and answers all the questions you can think of!
Such great content. Superb in depth descriptions. Added a ton of takedowns to my game. Feels like I actually know what I'm doing standing now...
Every Danaher instructional is usually already worth it only an hour in, get your wallet out for the man
Breaks down the key principles, then elaborates on practical steps on how to use them. Very useful
In this instructional John Danaher goes into a lot of details for the double leg and the single leg, both technically and strategically. The next videos of the "standing to ground" series are on my list. Highly recommend it !
Leaving no stone unturned or question unasked, John does what a truly elite coach can, mixes years of experience with the gift of aptitude to create content that anyone can understand and apply, immediately.
Amazing content, easy to follow and understand!
As jiu-jitsu evolve I see more and more opportunity to work the standing position in sparing. This video is more than welcome and had helped me undersand the basics of the standing game.
This one is a little bit dryer in places than some of Danaher's other instructionals, but there is SO much good content here. He is so incredibly generous with his information. There is essential information here about the differences between Judo, Wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu takedowns here. I wish I had this when I first started my grappling journey.
I have a few judo and wrestling instructional, which are great. BUT the problem is they don't consider the jiu jitsu rules which are completely different. John doing a great job delivering this instructional focused on the jui jitsu reality and developing a takedown game for jui jutsu specifically. Highly recommend!
100/10 Love it - Starts with the basics of standing game. The fundamentals that we need. Then a plethora of varied attacks and how to tie them together. I'm still not ready for volume 2 or 3... Will be working through this for a while and really loving it, adding bits here and there over the months. It's just difficult to drill solo so I'm constantly bugging my friends!
Excellent instructional.
The magnum opus of takedown for BJJ instructionals.
John Danaher a Grand Master at analysing techniques to optimise it's efficiency. This is no different and should be considered fundamental.
As always, best instruction in bjj. Extremely clear teaching and concepts that can be applied to practice right away.
