I bought this instructional as soon as it came out. Ever since Neil's kimura instructional, I was hoping he'd make a turtle dvd to expand on his kimura drill from that position. I was not disappointed. This dvd is HUGE , way more than I could've ever hoped for. Not only does this make me dangerous from a position that many bjj guys don't expect attack from, but it allows me to be comfortable defending from the bottom as a wrestler again. Great stuff

Excellent instructional. This will help greatly improve your offense and defense from the turtle position. Mr Melanson provides essential techniques that everyone needs to work from turtle to make this position so strong that your training partners will not want to be on top. Highly reccomend.

N.M. provided a pro-active turtle system based on baiting and channeling your opponent's options to your favor. He offers four different kinds of turtle positions which are compartible. Based on your oppinent's (re-)action and your target you can choose and switch quickly. He offers a great concept/idea if the clock whereafter you should develop a bait or counter/attack on every angle around you. You will get get ups sit outs, single legs and double legs, ankle picks roll outs and back escapes. Connected with your own submissions. He always explains the goals and why un depth and sumole! Gighly recommend!!
The best nogi bottom turtle DVD currently on the market.
As turtle becomes more and more of a primary bottom position over guard in the world of nogi submission grappling, this DVD is a must.

Really phenomenal and complete overview of how to address being in turtle. I always found turtle to be a position you would just be stuck in, but Neil really shows some of the advantages you can draw from it and how to formulate a plan before even going into it. I think it’s a great tool for no gi players but a lot of the concepts are certainly applicable in the gi as well. You can make adjustments in both games.
