This value that you will get out of this instructional far exceeds the price. I have watched a lot of John Danaher's instructionals and I believe Shawn Williams detail and concept presentation is equivalent. If you want to learn a guard that works for gi, no gi, self defense, and mma, then this is a great instructional for you. He even teaches transitions to the clamp guard and how to use both guards. Tons of value here. You even get great information for the closed guard as well. I was just blown away by the level of instruction delivered here. I plan to come back to these videos and use them as a reference as I continue to master the Williams Guard

When I do play closed guard in nogi, its always Williams guard. Shawn has created an excellent systematic approach to a tight & dangerous nogi closed guard. This is a must.

This should really be called the complete closed guard. So much more than just Williams Guard. He goes in to great detail and the really small things that matter so much at the high level. For example arm pummeling and breaking posture against a highly skilled opponent. Just these 2 things alone are worth the price of the dvd.

Not for me. I actually fell asleep with all the yapping. The only thing I regret spending good money on this site. I genuinely think you could cut the whole thing in half.
A continuous resource for growth in my closed guard.
I'm drawn to this guard by the concept of being able to control posture without extreme flexibility. The details in this DVD are excellent, although there are so many packed into the volumes, that I find myself often going back through even the first two parts over and over again. It seems every time I re-watch it I learn something new. An excellent choice for those that like closed guard, especially in no-gi.

This instructional is a hidden gem and has a lot more info than just the guard Shawn is famous for. Shawn got his black belt with John Danaher on the same day so if you like the DDS instructional Shawn’s detail teaching styles follows suit.
