It is about taking your opponent down by controlling either two on one on the arm and/or the head and get on top right away. It is about start seated vs standing/kneeling or seated vs seated. Sweep and submit or transition to sweep for setting up the submission. Great details on his approach and technical applications. Highly recommend

  This is my go-to Butterfly Guard instructional. It's to the point, not much fluff, can re-watch the techniques I am trying to master. Expertly taught by Jon Satava. It's really probably the only one you will need on this topic.
