Awesome instructional covering the butterfly guard. It’s extremely easy to follow and very thorough. Very highly recommended
Satava's butterfly instructional takes you from stance to grips to sweeps to attacks in a guided way that begins with foundational content and adds layers of complexity. It's a far more complete product than Marcelo Garcia's, and has a stronger emphasis on basics than Wardzinski's. Satava is a gifted educator.
Very good information on the butterfly guard from Joe Savata.
Awesome instructional system. Jon did a great job!
Fantastic details for butterfly
Amazing. this really improved my game!
Very good instructions.
Very good instructional
I have always struggled with implementing butterfly card effectively – basically I would always find myself getting my legs thrown over my head, or I would get body locked and passed. In the very first part of this instructional he goes over some really good techniques just for keeping yourself safe in butterfly card which I was immediately able to easily implement to address/avoid those issues ! And then further on he goes over some great grips and attacks that flow together really well. Both the specific techniques and the general concepts are so helpful ! Butterfly went from being something I absolutely avoided to one of my go to guards- even against larger opponents. I 100% recommend this instructional !
Goes through all the basics. Lots of good material here
Great details on getting into the positions
Jon Stava provides vey clear and detailed instruction. This is just not techniques presented À la carte, but in a very systemized format, which builds upon itself as the program moves forward. Excellent presentation and very easy to understand explanations.
Was able to implement the basic butterfly sweep right away.
Well explained good technique, really what more could you ask for.
Great instructional, well set out, clear and easy to follow, with good sequences that take account of opponents possible reactions.
Really simple and effective techniques
I have tried other butterfly instructionals but I feel that this one has helped me the most in developing key concepts for the position. Jon does a great job not only explaining what to do with the various upper body connections but also how to get to them.
I’m a fan of the Satava instructional videos. This one is a clear progression of butterfly guard from hand fighting and posture and on. I’m very happy with the purchase.
Excellent!!
Like every great instructor, John Satava explains the concept and mechanics of each position and his moves are illustrations of those concepts. Everything he shows can be applied to all areas of your game and easily adapted to your style.
Eye opening tutorial
As I sad really Good
