The first BJJ Instructional that I have purchased
The No Gi Half Guard by Bernardo Faria
And I must say that I'm very happy with the product. Bernardo uses the half-guard from the right side.I used VCL player and adjusted settings to mirror image and by doing that I was able to see the moves that he does from the left side, which is the side I prefer. I also learned them with a partner or my trainer in Cuba, which was an added plus. Like in anything, learning on your own by shadow bjjing or without a partner for this kind of tutorial won't be optimal. Yes, you'll be gain more knowledge and you can practice without a partner but the real benefit of this will come out if you have a real partner who knows bjj and just troubleshoot everything that is presented in the tutorial. I spent 16-18 hours trouble shooting with my trainer and afterwards my half-guard was on a completely different level where I could sweep, submit and get up. Meanwhile, before this DVD I would just lay down and get smashed. I don't think I would've been able to get better without a partner though. But everybody is different.
Response from BJJ FanaticsNice! Keep up the good work! Thanks Jake for keeping catch alive

Legit billy Robinson style catch wrestling. I can't recommend enough. Jake and Sam give details into Billy's catch philosophy. Thanks for sharing this information so it doesn't become lost.

Power Muay Thai by Liam Harrison
Striking and No Gi Judo instructionals are a coin flip in reliability, this one is worth the "gamble". Liam is a wonderful fighter, and gives thorough, yet concise explanations of techniques demonstrated. This has fundamentals, footwork, advanced feinting, clinch work, sweeps/dumps, and the unspoken element of striking; defense. I've watched the 2nd DVD twice, and I'm a striking coach (for perspective purposes). Highly Recommend and I'm a tough critic as most know ;) cheers

Pressure Passing Encyclopedia by Bernardo Faria
I am an older Grappler (56) with not the best flexibility, I'm slow, with average athleticism and Bernardo's instructionals are ideal for me. The way he teaches is also great and his demeanor is so friendly it's fun to learn from him.

Grand Master Leg Locks by Gokor Chivichyan
As a Catch Wrestler, I absolutely love learning from Neil Melanson's stuff that is all over BJJ Fanatics and YouTube. Here we have one of the men that helped trained him in Gokor Chivichyan. Gokor's leg lock game is straight laced and down right brutal. What I took from the material presented here is the little nuances on how to improve your positions & make them tighter, or how to properly use your cutting bone to make your achilles lock a feared finish that makes Gokor's leg lock game stand out. If you have an interest on how to rip a persons legs apart from the hip down to the ankle, check this out!

Escapes from Everywhere by Bernardo Faria
My coach always says a blue belt should know and be able to get out of (most) bad positions. Professor Faria teaches just that in this series. I highly recommend this package for anymore wishing to improve their escape game.

Self Mastery: Solo BJJ Training Drills by John Danaher
Aside from laying out a good workout plan out of the mats, the effort to breakdown the movements and put them in a context of "shadow grappling", makes this instructional deliver much more than a simple physical exercise routine, but introduces a different approach to understand a think about jiu-jitsu.

Basics To Advanced: The Half Butterfly Guard by Aaron Benzrihem
I have been following Aaron on his YouTube channel. I picked up a few gems from there, one of which was a half butterfly guard sweep. I am a big guy, I like half and deep half, but so do all of ye other big guys I roll with. The half butterfly is my secret weapon to counter this. I have been having success with Aarons techniques before the lockdown, now I can't train I thought I would study via bjj fanatics. I can not recommend this enough, not only is the content gold, but the format and order of presentation is first class. I was mainly interested in continuing my search for options when other big guys flatten my half, but I have learned so much more from this instructional. Thank you from the UK Aaron... And of course your good friend Tie, I appreciate everything you do.
