Precise and Deep
Systematically Attacking The Legs by Gordon Ryan
I bought this instructional after tapping to a counter leglock at my first competition, and within minutes of watching I instantly realized how little I understood about how to play in the pocket in positions I assumed I was good at. This instructional is wonderfully organized and intensive and Gordon is a genuinely gifted teacher for how he is able to translate minute positional details in ways that are easy to follow along with and troubleshoot when you go awry. I will clarify for potential buyers though that this material is primarily focused on leglock offense from entanglements and is not necessarily a guard instructional; this does not detract from its quality but was something I didn't fully anticipate. Overall, this was great for me as a new competitor and I look forward to practicing sequences at every chance.

Master The Move: The American Lock by John Danaher
I really love this new series that focuses on one specific concept. The flow chart in the beginning is helpful and I’ve already had lots of success using this knowledge to submit with the American lock as well as transitioning to Kimuras and back takes. Less is more sometimes in a sport that has such a vast amount of information available. I plan to start the Anaconda series next but I’m enjoying this step in my evolution thanks to Mr Danaher.

Master The Move: The Anaconda Strangle by John Danaher
“John Danaher once again delivers an incredibly detailed and insightful instructional with Master The Move: The Anaconda Strangle. His step-by-step breakdowns make even complex mechanics feel accessible, whether you’re a beginner or advanced grappler. I appreciated how he covered not just the technique itself but the setups, troubleshooting, and strategic applications in live rolls. This has already made a noticeable difference in my game. Highly recommended for anyone serious about developing a killer front headlock system!
