Single Leg X Reimagined by Adam Wardzinski
I love Single Leg X, and have Adam's other videos on the Butterfly and Octopus Guard so I thought I'd try this. What I appreciate most are the chapters on countering the Sing Leg X counters - afterall, you can't do all these fancy follow ups etc if your opponent is good at countering, so you need to make sure you can counter their counters!

A comprehensive review of Gordon Ryan's Guard retention instructional videos
They Shall Not Pass by Gordon Ryan
Gordon Ryan's instructional videos on guard retention are a treasure trove of detailed techniques and strategies, showcasing his mastery of no-gi jiu-jitsu. As one of the most renowned grapplers in the world, Ryan brings an unparalleled level of expertise to the table, making these videos invaluable for anyone looking to improve their guard game. The videos are packed with high-quality information, covering a wide range of guard retention techniques, including those for X guard, half guard, seated guard, and more. Ryan's approach is meticulous, focusing on both loose and tight guard passes, and he provides clear explanations of how to maintain control and prevent opponents from advancing. The level of detail is impressive, with Ryan highlighting subtle nuances that can make all the difference in a match. One of the strengths of these videos is their ability to cater to different skill levels. While beginners will find the foundational techniques invaluable, advanced practitioners will appreciate the depth and complexity of the strategies presented. However, the sheer volume of information can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially for those new to these techniques. This is not a drawback; rather, it means that the videos offer a wealth of knowledge that can be revisited and explored as one progresses in their training. A significant advantage of these instructional videos is their rewatch value. As you practice the techniques, you'll find that revisiting the videos allows you to pick up on details you might have missed initially. This is particularly useful for refining your skills and understanding the intricacies of guard retention. For instance, Ryan's emphasis on maintaining connections and controlling the opponent's movements can be practiced and then reinforced by revisiting specific sections of the video. In conclusion, Gordon Ryan's guard retention instructional videos are a must-have for anyone serious about improving their jiu-jitsu skills. While the depth of information can be daunting at times, it ensures that these videos will remain a valuable resource throughout your training journey.
