Excellent course! The instruction is so detailed that I have seen changes in my game.
Danaher is extremely articulate and organized.
I didn't expect anything different from this instructional then johns other stuff but this one instructional has drastically changed how I view half and my half guard game. the key thing for my first full watch through is the knee lever sweep. this also completes alot of gaps in my knowledge or add better details then some previous instructional I've looked at which has been mainly Craig's stuff (also very good).
Of all the videos I’ve purchased from BJJ Fanatics, this is by far the most helpful. Danaher’s techniques are clearly presented, logically organized, and easy to replicate. My half guard retention improved significantly, and my sweeps and wrestle ups have become more and more frequent. Now I’m working on adding his recommended leg attacks. I can’t recommend this series highly enough!
Masterclass instructional, I’ve been focusing primarily on half guard for a decade and just one section of this dvd showed me so many details that I’ve been missing for greater effectiveness. I’ll be studying this for life!
Danaher approaches half guard like a true professor would in a guard play theory course. This set is a great mesh of concepts and techniques. The options presented for the Scorpion (lock down) are worth watching this set alone. This series is an effective addition to G. Ryan’s Half Guard series.
Fantastic series from one of the best.
His original half guard instructional propelled my half guard game immensely. This new instructional takes you further in your game giving options for reversals and attacks from any reaction from yo ur opponent. I cannot recommend this instructional enough for grapplers of every level!!!!
Starts with Some Interesting concepts right off the bat seems great
As an established half guard player, I'm astonished by the details of things from the very basic to advanced leg sequences. I would recommend purchasing this for everyone at every level.
Great instructional and nice to hear John explain how the halfguard fits in to his system.
The best place to start when weaponizing what seems to be a not so great position. I regularly catch people with the first few sweeps he shows, and so will you. He has a great wayof not only approaching the system mechanically, but completely changed my outlook on half guard from a delay in the inevitable to a desirable position that I can usually get a reversal out of. GREAT VIDEO!
I dont know what it is about John Danaher's instructionals but everytime I think I dont need it and then he adds a whole new level to my grappling game. In each video series that gets released I think I can fill in the gaps with free internet videos but it just isnt the same as using his system. I used to use half guard to survive and hold off aggressive top players but now I can become offensive. Thanks Coach
This instructional is brilliant. Completely changed my game for the better. Great value for the amount of content and learning from the best.
Detail description for no gi hald guard!
Amazing instructional!
Excellent concepts of how to execute the Half-Guard position form top or bottom.
John covered ALL the details. He is truly the best jujitsu coaches I ever seen teach a topic.
Most reviews are 5* on this site. But this video truly is 5*. This is the best of Danaher's that I have seen. The wordy bits are in the first chapter, so you can listen without watching. The leglocks are in the final chapters so no fastforwarding for whitebelts. Stuff you need to learn together is together. All the concepts are succinct and relevant. This is not as encyclopedic as Lachlan Giles vid, but it really makes you get the full game plan quickly. Also, there are hours of well paced, and well constructed lessons here. A really good complement to Giles' vid, and vice versa.
More great work from Danaher. Half guard is now my go to guard since switching to no Gi.
Another fantastic instructional by Danaher. Can’t get enough of them
This instructional is step by step and can't be any better and must have and be studied for any level in bjj rankings!!!
De nos jours on ne présente plus John Danaher c'est un très grand maitre et professeur, sa philosophie du Jjb est logique et incroyable. Perso je progresse beaucoup à travers ces vidéos. Donc évidemment je recommande à tout le monde ses instructions.
You know what you are getting with Danaher, an in-depth, unparalleled breakdown of techniques from one of the greats. I’ve got Danaher’s Gi-based ‘Half-Guard: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster’ but much prefer this one, it’s more modern and I seem to have more ‘light-bulb’ moments with this series. I love using ankle picks to escape half-guard and this is extensively covered like no other instructional (and I have a lot!)
Amazing instructional as always from John Danaher! His system for half guard opens up great sweeps and submissions that are always found in his series of videos. A must for any no gi player!
