Love half guard and loved this instructional. Really well explained way to attack from many different directions and set-ups.
Goes without saying. John Danaher is the GOAT
I used to hate half guard before this instructional. As a beginner, I'd always go for a closed guard. This has changed that. I almost look forward to going to half guard now. Danaher is incredible.
nice
I had a couple other half guard videos, but this one provides a ton of base information that I needed to know before I watched the others.
I love John's instructionals. I'm white belt training less than a year. But his instructionals are helping me to better understand jiu jitsu and progress better.
Very Helpfull
best series
Danaher's half guard is the BEST position for new BJJ students, older students and attacking so you can control the session. This position helps you control your opponent through off balancing by connecting to their hips. It is identical to a half elbow escape and allows you to use escape concepts to off balance and attack using concepts and skills that you are already using. Danaher coaches you on entries that are proactive and reactive as well as how to attack from the side, underneath and directly from half guard. This is the best position to start your BJJ game! Continue the great instructional Professor
Danaher coaches you on the first BJJ position you need to know after learning escapes. Learn reactive and proactive techniques to attack the back, base or direct submissions from this position. Keep up the great instructionals!
John Danaher's famous attention to detail is represented in this video series to an amazing degree. Since reviewing several concepts on this video series, my half guard game has changed in the best way possible. I now have a solid foundation of technical concepts to use each and every roll. The knee lever is particularly excellent for any half guard player to understand if they want to be effective.
The best!
Really great instructional. This plus the half guard passing stuff in Danaher's other instructional (no-gi guard passing) gave me a really wide perspective on the position.
Another great and detailed video course by Danaher! If your intrested in half guard, or figjting of your back in the slightest you owe it to yourself to get this.
Fantastic instructional
Really helped my game. The explanation to the how and why Jon executes particular movements is just so much more succinct than other instructionals.
Great video
This dvd is best
Great instructural from John as always
The concepts that John covers in this instructional will have a long term impact on changing the way you think about jiu-jitsu and how you roll. With these changes there really won't be a time, while playing half guard, that you are at a loss as to how to attack your opponent. John's instruction is, as always, the type that sticks with you for years. I can hear his voice I. My head when I'm rolling.
Great instructional!
Great instructional. Good stratagy on escaping pins and moving into various attacks. Covers a few submissions as well. Very good dvd to get your half guard game going. Highly recommended.
Been going through this one and love it! Has definitely improved my half guard game.
This instructional covers everything half guard. Sweeps, off balancing, wrestling up, how to prevent getting passed, and how to transition into leg attacks. Very good.
Still going through this video but already learned a lot. Really good to for any level.
