Fundamentals of Side Control Escapes by Pedro Sauer
As always Pedro Sauer, show how to play a different game to stay active against stronger, heavier or more athletic guys. Soft, patient and sneaky. So smart!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Improved my confidence and success on the feet greatly - essential for the bjj athlete
Grip Like a World Champion 2.0 by Jimmy Pedro
This instiructional is essential viewing for bjj athletes. Having basically no judo experience, I can still say that the material in this video alone has greatly improved my confidence in the standing position, as well as my success there. After having drilled and put into practice the very basics of the gripping tactics that Jimmy teaches, I felt more at ease understanding what my training partners' options were from different gripping scenarios. Because Jimmy focuses on achieving grips that shut down the movement patterns that lead to throws, you don't need an extensive knowledge of throwing techniques to have confidence in your positioning within his gripping system. I also found that the gripping system really opened up my wrestling in the gi as it allowed me to operate with more initiative, take my grips, and go to work.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Great Instructional!
Systematically attacking From Top Pins: Side Control & North South by Gordon Ryan

The was one of the first guard rentention instructionals I’ve watched and its a game changer! Vast improvements in my retention almost instantly. Whats great is these techniques can be used in the gi too. Highly recommend and Alec is a great instructor. Clear and concise. No repetitive slow fluff.

Special instruction!
The Mikey Lock by Mikey Musumeci
When I saw this submission for the first time, I thought it's Caio's original knee bar. But it wasn't. In this video Mikey shows this submission in detail step by step. We can understand the mechanics of this submission and copy it.
Unpinnable
Fantastic instructional even as a purple belt I picked up some new things. I would have given it 5 stars but I couldn’t understand the professor at some points due to a cold(?) or sinus issue he had.

Perfect for "Old-Guys" or anyone who is not an athlete.
Jiu Jitsu For Old Guys Bottom Game: Half Guard and Closed Guard by Bernardo Faria
Bernardo Faria does an excellent job at presenting bottom game for old guys; Bernardo method of instruction is entertaining and educational. I found success with the techniques taught in the instructional videos, that I went on to purchase Bernardo Faria's Old Guys Over-Under passing. I look forward to more from Bernardo's Old Guy series of instructional videos. There is a charm to the deprecating but realistic title "old guys". I am sure we all love BJJ but it sucks getting old and out-of-shape, us "old-guys" need every advantage we can get. It was a huge honour for me to learn Bernardo Faria's techniques . Please keep making more in the "old-guys" series.
Encyclopedia of half guard passing.
The Guard Passing Anthology: Half Guard by Lachlan Giles
Lachlan goes over a lot of content and shows all the little details of how things work. Not only is there a lot of info, but it is also organized really well so you can go back and troubleshoot any problems you have. This is the gold standard for instructionals.

I purchased the Strong First audiobook back when Pavel Tsatsouline was on the JRE. Without the visuals I felt something was missing. When BJJ Fanatics released its Kettlebell Strong First title I had to have it. The breathing I hadn’t realized was important and the demonstrations were excellent

Major Confidence Builder
The Turtle Guard Revisited by Eduardo Telles
Eduardo Telles' Turtle Game not only changed my guard retention but provides option to generate reversals and even submissions from a seemingly difficult position. What I loved the most is Eduardo's approach. He's so chill and doesn't overcomplicate the position, but he still highlights the most crucial details.
