Fantastic! Taught me how Arm Dragging from an open stance is actually the preferred stance when standing. Also, the emphasis on the ground on using Butterfly Half Guard and dragging the far side arm were very informative.

This was a really good series on the Rubber Guard. I’m new to it, and it’s been helping me a lot. The breakdowns are clear and easy to follow, and I’m definitely planning to add these techniques to my game. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to get started with Rubber Guard.

Self Mastery: Solo BJJ Training Drills by John Danaher
This seems like something I should've known much earlier. I'm at over a tear in BJJ and I had a lot og lightbulb moments. I loved the thorough explanations, technicalities and reasons why along with showing us basics of how to with a partner. The only thing I wish it included was a 'putting it all together' routine so we could easily have something to go do before class like a 5-10 minute warmup. I'm going to recommend this to everyone
John’s or Gordon’s?
Systematically Attacking The Legs by Gordon Ryan
Let’s answer the question everyone wants to know- do I buy Gordon’s SATL or danaher’s ETS. I have and love both. There is obviously a lot of overlap and similarities including finishing mechanics, the hierarchy of grips, single roll theory, etc. Differences? ETS includes entires into the leg positions. ETS gives you immense details, principals and some History that others easily overlook. SATL covers the positions in ETS plus more. SATL covers more types of subs (ankle lock, heel hook, toe hold, etc). ETS taught me everything I know. The outside ashi system alone in SATL leveled up my game in truly remarkable ways. SATL is prob better for those looking for quick, easy to apply legs attacks that work at high levels. ETS is better for those looking for a deep foundational, complete battle tested system.

The new standard for Bjj
Enter The System Bundle by John Danaher
ETS should be the starting point for every Bjj practitioner. It lays the foundation for a very strong submission based game. Each system covers sets ups, finishing mechanics, and counter measures for the problems you’ll commonly face. By virtue of learning the counter measures, you’ll also learn the basic escapes as well. Most instructionals don’t give you the wide variety of content and multiple subject matters, making it the best value for your money. For me it is the most watched instructional I have. Downsides? It can be dry, or slow. Easy to zone out if you don’t like his voice. Overcome this by watching on 2x speed and in short bursts.
