John is the best at explaining the little details that click. This is my favorite purchase to date. Highly recommend
Great and logical as always.
Awesome instructional! John Danaher is a insightful professor that delivers great content.
Many of these techniques helped me get through my white belt. Danaher is a mater instructor.
John Danaher’s instructional videos are gold. His ability to deliver clear and concise detailed information is unmatched. Pin Escapes and Turtle Escapes for the win…
It feels good known you can't get out of tough pins.
Small details that help you understand escaping pins. I watch this video on a regular basis. Highly recommend
Danaher is one of the few that actually takes time to explain theory.
Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes is perhaps one of my favorite courses that John has designed. John's courses actually take a long time to make your way through. There are times where I will spend entire weekends from Friday night to Saturday morning, day, night all the way to Sunday until I have to start work the next week I'll do John Danaher marathons. He does a very good job explaining what he's teaching, he goes into great detail. If you're searching for quick techniques you can learn than drill, this might not be what you're looking for. If however you're looking for indepth understanding of the principles of Jiujitsu, the Why & How of techniques work then this is what you're looking for, John goes into detail after detail, once you understand what he's saying you can take your grappling ***** or training partner and practice what he's teaching along side him as he's doing it. This is definitely a resource you come back to over and over again in order to integrate the material into your ongoing behavior.
Very thorough. After watching the videos and practicing the moves, I know what to do when, when to do it, and why I’m doing it. That makes for a great foundation for improving my BJJ.
Danahers Instructionals are always on point! Some great details and concepts.
Good job www.oriengia.com
Helped me learn basic movements I need and to escape poor positions! Thanks!
Danaher offers his usual PhD-level analysis of BJJ. He claims that this video is the first in his video series, since people starting BJJ should learn pin escapes first. (For one thing, if you can escape pins, then you can always escape from danger. For another thing, if you know that you can escape pins, then you’ll attack your opponent without worrying about failing.) Danaher’s series is clear, insightful, and very analytical. If you’re willing to pay attention to it all, it’s a good way to learn.
Danaher always brings so much info to his instructional and the quality of his coaching is world class
Breaks down the why
When I first started my BJJ journey I was getting frustrated because I was constantly getting into bad situations. This Escapes series really helped me start improving quickly. The level of instruction is top quality with a high level of detail. A must watch for anyone, not just beginners.
i can honestly say this is pure gold! Im feeling more confident in escapes what has now made me go for more of a attacking style. ive beeing drilling johns tutorial for a month each chapter watching 30-40 mins each night making notes. giving so many little concepts that the normal every day hobbyist may have missed. well worth the money even better with a discount code!!!
I'm a 1 year white belt (135 pounds) and bought this instructional 6 months ago. It really helped a great deal. A month or so after I bought it I noticed that higher belts (blue, purple) heavier than me were struggling to hold me down and much more to submit me. Danaher gives you a compass ,simple goals you have to achieve in order to be successful in defense from every fundamental pin in Jiu Jitsu. I followed his advice (work on pin escapes and guard retention first ,then on offense) and I'm happy I did and still do. I would encourage you too to focus on defense first, so that you are not one of those higher belts who once are pinned down they are easier to beat.
Another brilliant video. John Danaher is a real genius. His advice is fair and precise. Highly recommended to progress in your game plan.
Masterclass instructional! Wish I would’ve got this sooner!!
Such a great product with detailed explanation.
Incredible details on both the bow and the why
The confidence of being able to escape pins has helped me immensely in the early stages of my bjj journey. Having this encyclopedia of escapes is a must for any white belt!
