Excellent program. Just what I needed to start.
The instructional video is excellent.
If you are a white belt or a blue belt, I'd recommend this video over just about any other video here on BJJFanatics. Danaher goes over everything I've seen in class at my local school plus a lot more. The foundation of any juijitero is escapes. And yes, he does talk a little slowly. After watching the technique through once, I recommend that you use the settings to set playback speed to 1.25.
After getting the go further passing video I knew I got Danaher's teaching method. Instead of just showing a move and providing minimal information on the why, he goes into depth on the subject. It is more like a real education on the subject instead of just learning to mimic a move. I'm blown away by this video and only just finished the first volume. If looking for a gi-centered video on the fundamentals of escapes you'd be hard-pressed to find better.
I recommend this video
From day one my offence has always been dangerous but over time I realised a gaping hole in my game, escapes As I work my way through this and practice I can see that my defence will eventually become a strength. Awesome
Course goes into great detail to explain fundamental concepts related to pin escapes. Shiukd help build the fundamental skills for any jiu jitsu player
John explain a very easy to understand concept, so you can overcome many bad positions with a basic principles instead of step by step tutorials that make it difficult to remember.
I feel like this is a cheat code. The small details make a big difference.
So glad I picked this up in my first few months of training! I would start here
Will change everything you thought About escapes and your general approach to BJJ. Must have for all levels
Great for anyone especially for the guy or gal finding themselves on the bottom struggling to get out.
I have this escape series and all the New Wave Positional Escapes and Gordon also Garry Tonon Exit the system. Getting pinned ****** so I needed more than what I learned at my school. I can watch this if I don't have a drilling partner and execute. The fundamentals will make you remember what position you need. I can think of what I learned even when overwhelmed and Now I started counter attacks already. This has upped my game and people know me for my pesky defense. I tested it against guys about 70 pounds heavier.
The level of detail in John's systems is incredible. Practicing these techniques in class has helped me to make some huge improvements to my jiu-jitsu and allowed me to escape from tough pins against higher belts
This video series is what defined my transition from white belt to blue belt. I got to the point where I felt (and still feel) confident that I can escape any pin situation. What this does is enable me to take risks that might put me in bad spots, but I have the confidence to know that I can escape.
Very detailed and based on easy to understand and easy to implement concepts underlying every move! Highly recommend for both GI and NOGI!
Methods upon methods. My side control sucks this really helped.
Completely brilliant course! With detailed installation on the most fundamental pin escapes
Tons of golden nuggets. Must have for beginners.
For me, this one definitely lived up to all the rave reviews. I honestly don’t think there is anyone else involved in BJJ who has put this much though and conceptualization in what they do. As an English speaker, his voice is easier for me to understand, as well- which may seem like a small thing, but over the many hours of content, plus the fact you’ll probably watch most of it more than once, it adds up. OSS!
Great introduction to how to not get smashed constantly!
This is great! Just buy it!
John Danaher's instructionals combine in-depth knowledge, precise language and a clear system where everything is connected and one thing leads to another. Great both for improving your own jiu-jitsu as a student and systematizing and expanding you knowledge as an instructor.
I thought I had a pretty good understanding of escapes..... Was pretty decent at getting out of bad positions. I really re-learned the fundamentals here - at a much higher level than I had learned them many years ago. Changed the way I looked at standard moves I thought I knew well such as the bridge (single shoulder bridge I should say) and elbow escape.
This is a great video that is well put together. It addresses all of the things necessary and puts them together in an easy to follow order. I would highly recommend this video to anyone.
