This instructional is a great deep dive into the scarf hold position. Learned a bunch of details for holding and finishing from this position.
Great video! Recently attended an Erik Paulson seminar on the same topic. Erik Is a wealth of knowledge and provides a info pact seminar. Having this video was a nice complement to what was covered in the seminar plus added additional fine details. You can’t go wrong with this video!
Many good pointers, worthwhile, good for everyone,

Great video!
Thank you Henry Akins! Having a good scarf hold has really separated me from the herd. It almost feels like an unfair advantage. Excellent instruction as well, very clear and succinct.
Very interesting instructional about a topic/position that is not really covered by BJJ instructionals. Very well put, love the teaching style of Henry Akins.
So far the best instructional I bought.
Clear concise instruction
worth every penny and maybe more. do a proper scarf hold is like having a whole new arsenal. most of the opponents will not able to manage it. simply loved it... and Henry is a great teacher.
My kids programs actively uses this in competition and blows other teams away. I tap people with the pressure of this position on the regular as well.
I've been playing scarf hold for years and this helped me take it several levels up! excellent content, can't wait to use in comps!
I had played around with the scarf hold but a lot of other people at my gym discounted it's effectiveness. I've been applying the techniques Henry teaches for the last couple of weeks and now I'm regularly getting taps from this position even on higher belts. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite positions to finish from.
Good overview of getting into scarf hold.
This instructional had been very helpful. It’s honestly like having a cheat code. So many techniques and subs to choose from…you’ll be excited to go to class. Thank you!
Because of this video, Scarfhold has become one of my new favorite positions. The amount of great info packed into this video is very impressive. Henry teaches his techniques in a way that is very easy to digest and immediately apply.
Henry is a true artist and master. God is in the details, and to **** with the budget. This is gold!
I am a white belt in BJJ with a background in judo and I was flabbergasted that the scarfhold was considered to be a rather weak position. I stumbeld upon Henry's instructional and I was sceptical at first. Too much martial arts magic I thought. Boy, I couldn't have been more wrong. Luckily I watched the advertisment on Bernardos youtube channel where poor Bernardo was tortured for about 20 minutes and I decided to give the instructional a shot. It is all about leverage and weight distribution and it works simply magical. I even used the information about the scarfhold in this instructional to earn my first black belt scalp and the numbers of people being submitted are just piling up. Thank you Henry! The instructional itself is about 3 hours and very easy to follow. You learn the entrys, how to hold the position and how to submit the opponent. The scarfhold is now my go-to position and I think it will remain that way. The instructional is highly recommanded to anybody to wants to learn more about this awesome position.
This positon has become a almost guaranteed finishing position against all belts. Using the details in this instructional and being 100kg+ is a good combination.. Its a bit weird aswell... I know that most will tap to the pressure.. So I actually sometimes adjust to NOT create too much pressure so that I can work some of the submissions instead of stealing souls with pressure-tap. It really has made me think of some positions as a "finishing position". Like Roger Gracies closed guard.. once you get into someones "finishing position" its really their world. Big eye opener and Im very thankful to have had the possibility to study it.
Attended this seminar years ago. It was so good and there was so much detail I purchased the series and recently revisited the position. Those who think this position will not work on them are the one's I wish to grapple. It addresses the fundamentals of creating EXTREME pressure and counters all the common attempts to escape. Those who feel they can take my back from this position are reduced to a flailing pile of arms and thrashing legs. Such an attractive image for those about to draw their last breath on earth. Simply exceptional material. Crash tested!
An effective tool to terrify your training partners. These techniques are formidably effective and in my opinion easy to apply ...Practice to understand the subtleties of this position
I can really appreciate how things many that are taught are applicable to no gi as well. Recommend to anyone that wants to have a deeper understanding of this position.
I have always loved the idea of the scarf hold, but could never make it work on anyone my level or above. Henry teaches details that makes your rolls more effective where are you utilize this brutal position! Watch the wince and feel the pressure!
Always a top quality product, easily accessible at a reasonable price.
this great tutorial on kesa gatame will help you scarhold the world!
