I like Danahers approach to this ageless series. It is still thorough, but has a little bit of a cleaner less repetitive delivery. Lots of cool things in this one. I particularly like the north south choke details, and the upgraded version of the americana.

The Ground Marshal Half Guard by Neil Melanson
There is so much good content in here for advanced practitioners to work into their own games, quite a lot of which is over my head. Still I think it is the slightly-advanced beginner with maybe a year or so under their belt who stands to benefit the most from this product -- so long as they are wise enough to focus on the simpler techniques and especially the "get ups." I've noticed that for most of the white belts who have stuck around, including myself, as our defensive skills advance we tend to find ourselves in the knee-shield half-guard position a great deal -- especially when we recover guard -- but once we get there we're stuck. All we can do is run defense and hope not to get passed again (usually in vain). The "Ground Marshal Half Guard" is a great way for lower belts like ourselves to turn a purely defensive, hope-and-pray-the-clock-runs-out position into a deadly attacking position. It also teaches you how to bail on the position and stand up (an often overlooked skill) when things go bad. Both of these skills, particularly the second, are invaluable to progress. The only potential downside I can see with giving this material to lower belts is that it will take a little discernment and discipline on the student's part to focus on the simpler, less glamorous skills like the "get ups" rather than all of the very, very cool submission chains. It's very easy to get enamored with slick techniques you don't yet have the chops to pull off safely and consistently. That caveat aside, I'd 100% recommend this product to anyone, especially white belts who constantly find themselves stuck in knee-shield half-guard.

Gordon is the best leglocker (and all around nogi grappler) to do it... period. Here he breaks down his leg locking details and philosophy. I am only partially through the instructional and have gain an immense amount of insight. I have never seen someone traverse so seamlessly between leg entanglements. This changed the way I attack legs for sure! Thanks for putting this one out man!

I think some people are criticising this as it's TOO thorough - not sure what that's about. Gordon's instructionals are best used to refer to over a long period, you're not going to absorb this quickly. It's vital though - already i have a much clearer response to leglock threats.

Professor Alexandre Paiva provided his bottom gameolan and signature movesvin depth. It is about the riverse de la riva and butterfly guard with links to inside ashi garami and x guard. He points out and shows the umoetance of kuzushi in terms to get the sweep and to avoid grips by constantly attacking. He also shows how to defend zones to disrupt your oppinent and put your game into play again. Also grip breaks are explained. The techniques are given in a logical follow up. Recommend!!
