As a white belt, I was struggling a lot with half guard. So I purchased this instructional and my half guard game improved immediately. Comprido is a great instructor and makes it very easy to learn.

I am a drink through a fire hose kind of guy when I come to learning things I'm interested in. Professor Danaher really breaks down the techniques and makes the situations easy to look for and apply. I will be getting more of his content in the future to step up my game.

I buy lots of videos and train with my kids and BJJ ***** since C19. One thing I have notices is an endless flow of more and more obscure, really complicated techniques, that I certainly can't pull off. This guy is great at taking the basics and progressively cranking them up in real world effective application. I've noticed that the stuff I teach my 8 year old, that he can pull off on his older brother, is exactly what I can pull off in class after drilling at home. This video does not have lots of side stories or overly complicated techniques or explanations, but filled with practical, practical, practical, drill, drill, drill! Now go pull it off live! A winner for me!

I'm a half guard player and I find myself in a modified version of this position quite a bit. I think the details Felipe gives are most valuable. What he teaches about hip position and connections not only enhance this position, but can be applied to many other positions and techniques to improve my overall game.

It's good information and will work if you are getting mugged by a homeless guy. However, it isn't up to the current mma level. Nothing on elbow defense, and a few moves specifically leave you open for elbows. Nothing on half guard or mount.

Paul is a world class instructor. After seeing a number of this instructionals, it's not surprising to hear that Marcelo Garcia invited him to be an instructor . This instructional is the typical top-notch Paul Schreiner material. I've been interested in improving my closed guard and when I saw that Paul produced this instructional I was like, "well, that's a must buy!". No remorse. There's a lot of review grade-inflation out there but Paul deserves 5 stars here. He explains the material super well, the critical details, and you can tell that he put a lot of thought into what would go into the instructional. My favorite instructors in terms of quality of instruction are Paul, Lachlan Giles and Danaher.

Systematically Attacking From Half Guard by Gordon Ryan
I play a lot from half guard and I think I have all of Gordon's instructionals so far. This has been my favorite one. I feel like I was already pretty good at playing from half guard, but I didn't really know why, my body just figured it out. This lead to me being pretty bad at teaching others because I didn't really understand why I was having success most of the time from half guard, but at some times it would be very difficult on some opponents. This instructional really opened my eyes into what exactly I was doing right and wrong and what to be looking for from this position. Definitely feel much more confident and competent in half guard now.
