Many major BJJ personalities reference this guard
The Coyote Half Guard by Lucas Leite
I got this because all the world champions in their videos keep mentioning coyote guard or doing variations of it. So I'm trying to figure it out. I started with Z guard so I'm looking for options. This is not the best organized video ever, but Leite's insights are extremely useful. I swept two people in my gym that have been beating me up for over a year. I tapped a world champion brown belt after sweeping him and a very tough wrestler blue belt who could easily become a world champion imo. Granted nowadays it seems like every gym has 20 world champions. Just saying they're tough, and they could hold me down, and coyote sweeps got me on top. Very useful series, and I still need to improve.
very good addition to z guard
The Possum Guard by Ricardo Vieira
I've been trying to build up my Z guard and this seemed like something that fit in naturally. Pretty cool new sweeps plus a couple of submissions. A little bit different from Coyote Guard. I like having both Coyote Guard and Possum Guard so that they can chase each other.
