Modernized Headquarters Passing by Shawn Melanson
A well thought out instructional from the headquarters position. I was able to apply what was taught same day on the mats. My passing was OK, now it's above average for my rank. I can pass white belts easily and am giving blue belts a tough time. Highly recommend!!

Precision Wrestling For Jiu Jitsu by Shawn Melanson
My initial academy did not teach wrestling or judo so I came to BJJ Fanatics and started my search. Shawn is someone I follow on Instagram and has content I enjoy so I bought the instructional and immediately was able to bring the knowledge to the mats.Yhe instructions are easy to follow and apply. Shawn has even answered questions via Instagram. I enjoyed this so much I bought a second of his instructionals and am planning on grabbing the next two. Highly recommended.

Guard Retention: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
I’ve had John Danaher’s videos for a long time. When my technique goes off course, I always refer to his specific videos. I’m not athletic, 65 yr old, two injured knees for 30 years. I’ll never quit jiu jitsu. I’m not as good as other Brown belts and even lower belts but I come back the next day. Danaher teaches what nobody can learn on their own.

Perfect for the Hobbyist (And Everyone Else Too)
Takedowns For The Rest of Us by Michael Heinz
Learning to take people down is hard. Most methods rely on lots of rigorous training and a healthy dose of youth and athleticism. For example, trying to hit single leg take downs (when you're 40) is not going to happen very often. Complicating the issue is that the stand up game is often neglected in most BJJ schools. They assume take downs are just going to happen. But they don't. This course is the solution. It's based on very conservative principles that aim to limit the athleticism and mobility of your opponent, while draining his energy at the same time. It's not just for hobbyists, either. Restricting your opponent (vs simply attacking) is a sound strategy that goes far beyond BJJ and works in multiple domains. It's a system you can use into old age and I highly recommend it.
