Inside Guard Secrets RDLR & The False Reap by Kieran Kichuk
As a blue belt who’s new to leg locks and who favours a half guard style bottom game, this is an amazing instructional. Great detail through the first 2 volumes for someone who’s not as familiar with leg locks, and then a amazingly laid out 3rd and 4th volume, each focusing on RDLR and False Reap individually making it very easy to follow.

The Movement Art System: Basic Concepts by Nick Salles and Danny Maira
This video series was recommended to me by a black belt because I was looking for an instructional to give me a framework of understanding of objectives to make BJJ more natural. Meaning instead of learning a bunch of positions by wrote, learn the principles that make those positions desirable and be able to recognize the opportunities when they happen. I find a good instructional helpful, but I was having trouble putting the techniques into place because I had no context from which to use them. All I can say is, this video series helped me the first day. The discussion about the danger zone, how frame and hooks should work, trinary dilema, c spine… by having these thoughts in mind I had an idea of why things are important, making them so much easier to put into place. An example of this was I was playing open guard with a brown belt who was obviously being kind and letting me work. I flowed into a position without thinking about it. He stopped and laughed and said “how does a 1 stripe white belt know K guard?” I had no clue what K guard was - this video series just taught me how to find that good position without knowing it. I can’t recommend it more highly, particularly if you like game theory discussions and general concepts that you can hold across your entire game.

The Complete North South Choke by Marcelo Garcia
I always liked this choke, got really close, then had folks pendulum, slither etc out of my submission. Marcelo not only goes into the necessary finishing details regarding squeeze, hand fighting and alignment, he also shows a million places to initiate the choke from that I never would have thought of. My percentage for finishing the choke has gone in just a few weeks from a 20% finish rate to about 70% and I'm still finding new details to apply every time I press the play button.
