Shoot To Kill: Wrestle, Scramble, Submit by Garry Tonon
The man himself displays some great technique beginning with the basics of takedowns. I think anyone of any level could benefit from this instructional. Also, it helped that Garry throws in his sense of humor here or there to help keep my incredibly small attention span.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Ante delivers!
Killing The Far Side Arm by Ante Dzolic
Don’t sleep on Ante’s instructionals! Especially killing the far side arm! This dvd covers it all! Ante’s dvds are some of the most bang for your buck on bjj fanatics. Material is delivered and covered in a easy to understand and in a no none sense approach. KTFSA shows you how to shut down your opponent and greatly explains the position and then the appropriate time and scenario to go for the submission. This dvd thoroughly covers attacks from side body, north/south, kneeling/seated, back control and wraps up with arm bar series. This is my second dvd from Ante and I think they’re both fantastic!

New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Half Guard 3 Directions of Attack by John Danaher
Not all the way through yet, but as with several of JD’s other instructions (and even more so with this one), the information is having an immediate positive impact on my grappling performance, and the way I think while rolling, in the half guard position specifically, but also more generally. As with lots of his other stuff, this would be worth the investment, even if the only thing you took from it, was the very clever grip sequences shown, that can be immediately put into practice very profitably.

I've been working with Greg and Wolf Brigade gym remotely for almost a year now. I also attended their 2 day seminar called Convergence over the summer. After spending this much time diving into their training approach, this video still provided a lot more details and things I can improve on. If you are interested in Mace training, you NEED this!

Jiu-Jitsu Based Self Defense Solutions by Eli Knight
The instruction is very good. Great content. The only negative point about this video is that both the instructor and the partner are wearing the same colors. At times it's hard to see who is grabbing who and where they are grabbing. They really should wear contrasting colors. The camera angle should be more dynamic too so the details are easier to pick up.

I was consistently finding myself in half guard but I lacked the knowledge of how to properly use the position. The easy to follow instructions, as well as the video examples, helped me to pick up a number of new techniques to try and has allowed me to get a number of submissions from the position while rolling!

BJJ For The Street by Burton Richardson
I consider this to be one of the best purchases I have made at BJJ Fanatics and I have made plenty. I love BJJ and think it is great for both sport and for self-defense, but in this series Burton Richardson shows you things you have probably never thought about but definitely SHOULD think of before you choose to scrap with a stranger. Look at the contents of these four volumes. Maybe just looking at the various subjects will make you aware of holes in your self-defense preparedness. Buy Burton Richardson's BJJ For The Street to learn his pressure-tested methods for dealing with street violence.
