BJJF puts out so much material it is really difficult to gauge what is gimmick and what is actually learnable and useable. The techniques in this instructional are helping me pass much more advanced students.

The Roger Gracie Side Control System by Roger Gracie
The techniques in this video are definitely very useful and shown in great detail. It was also simply fun to watch, which I think helps a lot with retaining information from videos. Roger and Mauricio will simply put you in a good mood. One thing that could be improved, is to show the techniques from multiple angles. A lot of times I really wanted to see how exactly Roger positioned his hips and legs in more detail, which was not always possible to see. If at the end of every technique, they would have shown the whole thing from a different angle (even in short and without much explanation) it would have really helped me. Regardless of this minor complaint, I would definitely recommend this instructional.

Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
Haven't finished the complete video series yet or had a chance to drill the material but my eyes have been opened to details that my existing knowledge of pin escapes was missing. Little details that address the questions I had as to why I have trouble successfully executing certain escapes on more advanced players. The concepts are presented in a user friendly manner and the material progression is obviously well thought out.

Go Further Faster Bundle by John Danaher
I trained bjj for 2 years before moving and finding a tough judo club. We spend half the class doing newaza, which I love. Judo is explosive but mainly focuses on the top game. A pin for 20 seconds is a win, so you see people going to turtle often and stalling. Danaher's instructionals cover turtle, and every position is covered in such detail I find myself hitting sweeps and subs in rolling without practicing them because of the extreme detail. It's not just demonstrating like other instructionals, he shows how NOT to do it as well. He gives plan b, c, d and so on for every scenario. Bjjfanatics is awesome too. I went in thinking I'd get one bundle, at check out between discounts points and everything else offered I was able to get 3 more Danaher instructionals for the same price that I thought would just cover the original bundle!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:My favourite instructional!

Passing the Guard: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
I'm only one video in and I'm showing improvement. J.D. Instructional videos are the best. Understanding the concepts, which he explains thoroughly, is unbelievably valuable. Knowing what you're doing and why is where J.D. shines. Amazing Teacher
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Some very useful information in here
Wrestling For BJJ by Hudson Taylor
This is a good DVD. I'm a blue belt, and most of the techniques in here I had never seen before. Even though Hudson says its "wrestling fundamentals", it has a lot of knowledge that most blue, and purple belts don't know. In particular, parts 3 and 4 are exceptional. In Part 3, he pretty much shows a complete single leg takedown system with lots of set ups, drills and takedowns. Its actually enough to base an entire wrestling game off of. Part 4 shows the defense for the single leg as well. I'd love a DVD that showed a similar breakdown of entries and options for the double leg. Great DVD that is worth the money.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Octavio 's guard retention
Effortless Guard Retention & Pin Escapes by Octavio Couto
Great job Octavio!!!

BJJ Drills For Grapplers of All Levels by Pete Letsos
Pete has been around and in this video you’re going to see a collection of drills from all over. In a time when people want to go straight to rolling, drilling seems to be left behind. These drills have helped my game so much. Don’t make the mistake of getting caught up in all the fancy techniques if you don’t have an understanding of basic movements and techniques. They’ll serve you well over the course of your BJJ journey.
