Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Most comprehensive guard passing instructional available
Passing the Guard: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
As is typical for Professor Danaher, this instructional is the most comprehensive on the market for this topic. I like his instructionals because he generally first offers his philosophy, then he demonstrates the highest percentage techniques, followed by the lower percentage moves, all from various vantage points. The man has excellent, excellent teaching skills, The content, although somewhat expensive, is the only instructional you will need for the topic of guard passing in my opinion. I just learned why I occasionally struggled with a favorite pass against certain students because of a faulty elbow placement (a pass I have been doing for over a decade and was originally taught differently). Very detailed, highly recommend.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Ageless Jujitsu No Ghi
Ageless Jiu Jitsu: Winning When You're Older and Less Athletic - Bottom game: Gi by John Danaher
Ageless jujitsu is the operating system one needs to practice and enjoy jujitsu at 50 and beyond. If you want to keep rolling as an older practitioner while avoiding injury & making younger opponents scratch their heads as to why your so difficult to deal with on the mat - you probably need to explore the concepts JD presents in this treasure trove of lessons.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Gordon's Escape Game is a must have
The Pillars of Defense: Pin Escapes - Defensive to Offensive Cycles by Gordon Ryan
Gordon focuses on his personal pin escape game against high-level opponents. He gives a lot of the philospohical jiu-jitsu popularized by Danaher but in shorter form. Unlike some others (like Lachlan or Danaher) it's not an anthology of pin escapes so you won't see pin escapes to recover closed guard, or MMA style standup escapes or anything involving a Gi. Gordon teaches an escaping style that is extremely effective and fits in perfectly with all his other instructionals (especially, his guard retention instructional, "They Shall Not Pass").
