Waldos knowledge regarding striking for MMA is second to none in my opinion. If you listen to the things he says in the course you will get a good insight to that knowledge and how it can help you raise your awareness and fight IQ. To some extent it can be lost in translation since his partner in the videos has an extensive karate background which puts a certain flare on the demonstrations, but nonetheless you understand where Waldo is coming from and what he wants to teach. The section on takedowns and ground and pound where Waldo demonstrates techniques and tactics himself is truly excellent, and he adresses specific common problems and how to avoid them. Masterclass!

Overall, this is a great course. The clamp guard is an upper-body version of the Ashi Garami. The course adds my weapons in closed guard and half guard. Sensei Brian is a great teacher. Shout out to his YouTube channel, and he is willing to answer questions through social media. In the last volume of this course sensei Brian gives a quick review of all the techniques. I love the format so I can quickly review all the information in this course. Worth every penny and highly recommend
One of the best videos I have ever watched
I learned so much from watching "Just Stand Up." For starters, as Craig said, my instructors have been critical of the turtle position. What I told my current instructor about using turtle to escape and stand up, he told me, "Get into turtle then." When I did, he proceeded to gently kick me in the ribs and back, saying, "See? That's why turtle is bad." But Craig did NOT say to STAY in turtle...! Nevertheless, I didn't argue - however, I did successfully use the turtle to escape side control and stand up after one of my rolls. Next, Craig delves into how Half Guard is the best position to pin someone - not side control. He also shows some nifty submissions and transitions to mount from side control. Turks were something I had never heard of but will start using in my rolls, for sure! "You Have Been Taught Arm Triangle Wrong" was one of the best parts of the video - I had no idea that there's an escape when people dismount to clock choke opponents! Craig shows you the RIGHT way to do it. Finally, he shows some nasty North-South Submissions. Love those. He will also make you laugh as he pokes fun at his buddies demonstrating the techniques. If he made one more short joke about Spencer, I wouldn't have been surprised the young fellow had jumped on Craig's back for an RNC! Anyway, can't say enough about this video. As a 52 year-old BJJ 4-stripe white belt, I can use all the help I can get. Thanks Craig! Would love to visit your dojo in Austin, but you would probably make a bunch of old man jokes about me. Still, would be worth it! Cheers!
