Drill for skill chest pin escapes
Drill for Skill Chest to Chest Pin Escapes by Placido Santos
This is very good, I think he does himself a disservice by saying the more he talks the less smarter he sounds, I honestly think this is an excellent, clear and very valuable instructional.
great seres
Counters From Everywhere by Frederico Silva
excellent course. very detailed and has variations and transitions that flow from submission and positions very well and show you how to connect them if one is defended or missed
Unpinnable
Unpinnable by Professor Henry Akins
Great options for dealing with the pressure of side control, where the emphasis is on preventing yourself from being flattened out and the mechanics of how to do that, and the importance of gaining the underhook vs the framing method. I have been able to attend some of Henry's seminars in the past, and there is so much info, it's so hard to remember all of it....having this instructional has helped me refresh my brain haha...This instructional also ties in nicely with one of his instructors- John Frankl's iron pillow system. If you love defensive strategies can't go wrong here, this will help for sure

The Foundation of My Game
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Side Attacks - Building a Devastating Side Control System by John Danaher
This is easily my favorite John Danaher instructional. There is zero filler—every single volume in this series is incredibly useful and packed with crucial details. It completely changed how I approach top control and has become the absolute foundation of my game. If you want a truly systematic approach to side attacks rather than just a list of random submissions, this is a must-watch.
