Great Passing Instructional!
The São Paulo Passing System by Leonardo Nogueira
This is a great instructional! I loved how Leo explained and linked different variations of the São Paulo Pass. I just began using it and it has greatly improved my passing success! This is now my favorite way to pass the full guard. Definitely worth the investment!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great open guard concepts from Danaher
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Open Guard The two Foundations Of Guard Play by John Danaher
He does a great with 1) providing the overall concept and strategies behind how open guard works and then 2) provide techniques that answers certain situations along with answering those concepts, all textbook formatted. He did the Open Guard instructional before this. This instructional is No-Gi focused while the prior one's Gi focused. In addition, this instructional is an update to his overall understanding of open guard, and to the Open Guard instructional he had. Thus, this one's great to get viewers up to speed with open guard game.

The Maia Backpack System: Controlling The Back by Demian Maia
This dvd is quite informative on the back position. Although DVD 1 is a bit slow if you are an intermediate-advanced level practitioner, it is beneficial for those who are new to the details and concepts of controlling the back. DVD 2 is great on the body triangle. I have never seen the body triangle gone over in so much detail from any other source. Very refreshing to see this covered DVD 3 & 4 are great, some of these things are newer developments of forgotten back retention techniques for not losing the position. Many details of how and why to use certain techniques is gone over quite well. It is rare to see any MMA instructional that would cover this type of topic much less, specialized BJJ for MMA. For those on the fence about getting this DVD because it might be too much MMA and not sport grappling, it is not your typical grappling instructional with strikes thrown in. Although strikes are mentioned, none of the techniques in the dvd are shown with strikes because the topic and specific techniques are grappling techniques. Even those who are interested in pure BJJ/grappling will find this set very valuable with things that may not be taught anywhere else. I fully recommend this volume!

Systematically Attacking From Top Pins: Mount by Gordon Ryan
Gordon is excelent at explaining technique, much like his coach John Danaher. He focuses on very few very important techniques in his video. This gives the viewer a solid well thought out approach on how to win the mounted position.

Connected Reaction: Pistol Grip 2 on 1 Volume 1: Closed Guard by Paul Schreiner
Another Paul Schreiner! Paul places such a heavy emphasis on explaining theory and structure, that the techniques themselves become very self-explanatory and easy to execute in live rolling. The day after watching this I was able to take a brown belts back. The pistol grip has turned into my new favorite toy for guard play.

The Scarf Hold The Soul Stealer by Henry Akins
Attended this seminar years ago. It was so good and there was so much detail I purchased the series and recently revisited the position. Those who think this position will not work on them are the one's I wish to grapple. It addresses the fundamentals of creating EXTREME pressure and counters all the common attempts to escape. Those who feel they can take my back from this position are reduced to a flailing pile of arms and thrashing legs. Such an attractive image for those about to draw their last breath on earth. Simply exceptional material. Crash tested!

Leglocks: Enter The System by John Danaher
I started BJJ in Jan 2019. I had to wait 1 year after my bilateral knee replacement to heal. So I'm about to turn 60 years old with 2 new knees and I get the BJJ bug! Why? First was watching John Danaher's Leg system. Yes, half of the body not being optimized by most other systems. And the other reason is because my 2 youngest kids (7 & 8 yo) are getting BJJ skills after just a few years. Professor Danaher's attention to details and the ability to demonstrate the moves are second to none. His break down of technique regarding what does the opponent want and what you are trying to do instructs on a higher level by getting you to recognize and confound what your opponent wants. If you want to learn from an absolute BJJ genius, get one of John Danaher's instructional videos and you'll know what I mean. The videos are a bit like potato chips, you can't get just 1! I've purchased over 15 videos and watch 1 hour a day, everyday. Thank you John for teaching a disabled veteran the great combat sport of BJJ. I watch the video and then practice on the mat! Other students see a difference as well. You're the best!

New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Half Guard 3 Directions of Attack by John Danaher
Another great instructional. Interchangeable with Gordons Half Guard series. For myself, working between both helps me piece the half guard concepts together a lot easier.. I’ve never really understood half guard so avoided being in the position.. these videos have helped me gain some real confidence in the position and slowly move forward.

Middle Aged BJJ by Tom DeBlass
As a 39yr old blue belt that's been training over eight years, I'm noticing that I have to change my game. Increasingly I have to adjust to keep pace with 20 somethings. I had my meniscus repaired, so I'm not eager to risk blowing out my knee again. This video is tremendously helpful for middle aged players who need a strategy to keep up and stay injury free.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Outstanding Instructional
Outstanding instructional video, great use of the lapel. This will add to my BJJ skill set.

Middle Aged BJJ 2: No Gi by Tom DeBlass
Being middle aged and starting bjj can be daunting but it can also be incredibly rewarding when you have people like Tom Deblass guiding you through it. My advice is find your people to train with, you know who they are and then get this dvd and watch your fame improve instantly. Mine did and thanks to Tom, the guys also in it, bjj fanatics and my training partners for making me a better person both on and off the mat 🙌
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:A must have for any and all Law Enforcement Officer
Grapple Control Techniques and Strategies for Law Enforcement by Freddy Trillo
Oh my god, this instructional is one of the best instructional DVD I've ever watched. I really enjoy how Professor Freddy Trillo goes into detail on explaining how important it is to be able to control a subject while on the ground. His easy to understand illustration on control techniques, clearly shows that he's a skilled police veteran that knows exactly how to deal with combative subjects. Also the way Professor Trillo teaches each technique will give any officer the confidence he or she needs in order to effectively deal with a subject without having to land a strike. I highly recommend this DVD instructional to any and all Law Enforcement Officers. I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Back Escapes: Introducing The Hidden Posture by Priit Mihkelson
The mad scientist is back in the lab, except he is not mad, just Estonian. As someone who had the bad guys on my back for the better part of 25 years, I can attest to the effectiveness of the content from this series. The positioning of your body in this series is not totally unconventional however is not typically performed while someone is on your back. It provides safety and forces people to abandon what they thought were solid attacks making escaping and attacking during the transitions almost too easy. This cheat code will have you coming back for more Priit sorcery. Definitely a must for those who say how can I advance. Cheers

Hybrid Grappling Explained by Jesse Marez
Idea of taking catch techniques and then using same principles with gi is simply great. As more of an gi player this really fine concept of doing things, and you can of course take them as they are show. So as me I did get more than my moneys worth. Would recommend :call_me_hand:

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:A Danaher Must have item
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Open Guard vol 2: Sweeps and Reversals by John Danaher
This video identifies not just the core techniques which will give you the most mileage and are the most robust while playing open guard. It also provides you with a general strategy of how to play the open guard in the first place (for nogi). While the first chapter of open guard helps you build a foundation game of open guard and not loose the position, this one teaches you how to go after you opponent and attack. I would still recommend buying other videos from Danaher, but if you can only afford one, this would definitely be my top pick.
