Art of Combo Punching by Teddy Atlas
Teddy is brilliant at breaking down the art of combo punching
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Wonderful Hand Fighting Details
Finish on the Back by Ethan Crelinsten
Ethan could definitely grow as an instructor, but it's obvious that he's talented and could have a good career in coaching. For the hand fighting section alone, I'd give this five stars. Also, some of his techniques are just so creative and a good supplement to over back instructionals. However, for some of the other details, there are some better resources. I wouldn't make this your sole guide to fighting from the back, but it's definitely worth your time.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Wonderful instructional video
Guard Retention: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
Over 6,5 hrs of well structured instructional.. John Danaher is a master of teaching the techniques so that you can try them as if you had your own coach at home. I can recommend it fully.

Essential Connections: Chest To Back - In Front of the Elbows by Giancarlo Bodoni
The break down in which Giancarlo gave was amazing. It’s a position and place in which any grappler that’s been in the sport for a while or a new practitioner can learn and take something away from. I look forward to getting all other instructionals from the ADCC champ. He’s got a great story from humble beginnings to where his is now. I hope to meet him and learn from him one day.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Top class content
The Ultimate Takedown Series Volume 1: Gripping & Kuzushi by Travis Stevens
There aren’t many decent instructionals out there on gripping and this is a top class one from an individual who has not a high level judo and BJJ background. I have already been able to put some of the techniques into practice at class 👍

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Lots of Great Details, But...
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Guard Passing by John Danaher
This is a good. However, after seeing Craig Jones' Power Ride instructional, I am attuned that some of these passes are more for scoring than for better control. You might win your match under certain rule sets, but I don't think some of these ideas will make you better for self-defense or MMA. That being said, you can still implement Danaher's excellent details for the leg riding game. He's incredible.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Amazing
Standing2Ground: Takedowns & Standing Skills For Jiu Jitsu by John Danaher
This one is a little bit dryer in places than some of Danaher's other instructionals, but there is SO much good content here. He is so incredibly generous with his information. There is essential information here about the differences between Judo, Wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu takedowns here. I wish I had this when I first started my grappling journey.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Danaher’s instruction is clear and

Danaher’s instruction is clear and thorough. Watching this series will help you understand, not just what to do, but why to do it. He takes a huge number of take downs and provides you with what works best for our support, and explains it in a way that allows you to apply your knowledge quickly.

Go Further Faster Bundle by John Danaher
Masses of details and tricks, as well as good broad rules for all fundamental positions. A lot of minute detail to process though, might not be the best for short attentions spans.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Detailed as expected
The Pillars of Defense: Turtle & Front Headlock Escapes by Gordon Ryan

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Great guard system for strike based grappling
Special "K" Guard by Neil Melanson
Was completely unfamiliar with K guard before Coach Neil. Very interesting guard to play when strikes are involved. The ability to attack high and low really throws off your sparring partners.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:The King
Systematically Attacking The Legs by Gordon Ryan
Fantastic. I'd also like to see a Pillars of Defence - Escaping Leg Attacks at some point, but I've no doubt he's got tons of info on this. Get well soon, Gordo!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Excellent framework to work from
Understanding The Distance From Guard by Gui Mendes
This instructional delivers a framework about how to think when in the guard. Compared to just isolated moves, now my understanding is a lot better! Professor Mendes does also include some very useful moves in each distance.

New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Closed Guard - Building a Complete Closed Guard System by John Danaher
Probably the only closed guard instructional you'll ever need. Obviously, if you're gi-only, you'll want to adapt this information to that context. This is classic Danaher. He gives you techniques not in isolation, but with a system in mind. Just simply fantastic.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Texas clover leaf
Catch Wrestling Submissions Systems by Sam Kressin
His application of the Texas clover leaf reminds me of Sensei Erik Paulson STF series! Catch wrestling holds that are more known for Pro Wrestling applications but work very well in grappling /combat!…the music in between chapters is better than most also.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Must buy

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Danaher Is Great- But See Comment
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Side Attacks - Building a Devastating Side Control System by John Danaher
This is an amazing instructional. Danaher teaches actual pins from side control, and a system of when to go to mount and north south. It's really good, and will give you lots of options. That being said, I'd highly recommend you check out Craig Jones' Power Ride instructional. There, he makes a good case that often legs rides are often a better alternative to side control. You could still use Danaher's instructional with that material, so this one is still worth it.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Good stuff

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Improved my rolling very much
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: A New Philosophy Of Positional Escapes by John Danaher
With the learnings from this course my rolling gets much more interesting instead of just being pinned and struggling the whole time. My coach likes my improvements, but said I'm a bit too predictable in my escapes, so keep that also in mind when trying out these escapes. As a white belt I always get a sense that these escapes are superior, but e.g. escaping from a back triangle is sometimes still not possible. Having in mind that this course is not a magic potion, it is still insanely good. If you're a white belt, buy this course and save months or even years of slow progress. It is my first course I ever bought and I just realised how vital bjjfanatics is with its content for great progress in bjj.
Response from BJJ FanaticsIt will become your magic potion after you have mastered it. You’re still a white belt, so keep dedicating yourself, studying and working hard! Congrats on the improvements! :clap::skin-tone-3:excellent
Guard Retention: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
improved my guard retention greatly. cant wait to rewatch when i have more experience.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Must have for side control bottom improvement
Escapes and Attacks From Bottom Side Control by Eli Knight
E. K. delivers a great no-gi instructional about escaping side control, kesagatame and north south position. Done via reversals or guard recovery. Extrordinary is also the submission from the bottom section. So this instructional delivers a whole gameplan for sidecontrol bottom! The explanations are on point! Recommended!
